Boulevard Ghosts
by Karen A. Romanko

They drift up
from Griffith's Babylon
exiled extras
searching for their stars

Down from Hollywoodland
they float, drawn
to bright lights,
an unreal day

Boulevard ghosts,
ready for their close-ups,
unaware
the key light's faded away

Karen A. Romanko writes poetry and short stories in the science fiction, fantasy, horror, and mystery genres. Her work has appeared in venues such as  Strange Horizons, Ideomancer, The Pedestal Magazine, EOTU Ezine, Aoife's Kiss, and sidereality. She also edits and publishes this little e-zine, Raven Electrick, now in its fourth year.

When not hunched at the computer, Karen enjoys the sun of Southern California with her biologist husband, Bob Desharnais. On August 12, 2003, the two celebrated 25 years of marriage with a big bash in the penthouse suite of the Renaissance Hotel in nearby Hollywood. A long-time movie buff, Karen loves the proximity to Tinseltown, but misses the fall foliage of her native Boston, and always roots for the Red Sox.
